Executive Board
The executive team members of jsawards.org are a group of professionals from various technology companies in the USA. During a visit to India, they observed increasing pollution and were inspired by the environmental activism of middle school children to take action. As a result, they initiated a battery recycling project to engage young people with environmental issues. This initiative eventually led to the creation of jsawards.org, a program designed to recognize and expand upon environmental initiatives started by young people.

Devender Narala, an Environmental Engineer with over 30 years of service in multiple state agencies, including the California Environmental Protection Agency (CalEPA), has been a key advocate for environmental protection. He led efforts to safeguard groundwater and surface water from contamination, oversaw the cleanup of TPH and VOCs in soil and water, regulated hazardous and solid waste landfills, and championed stormwater discharge management for construction and industrial activities.Currently, he serves as the Director of Development at Aria University, raising funds to support Indian languages and establish a School of Medicine in California’s underserved San Joaquin Valley. In addition, he is the Northern California Regional Coordinator for ManaBadi, a global Telugu language initiative educating over 12,000 students across 35 U.S. states and 12 countries.
